The only thing worse than the inconvenience of a cracked windshield is the stress of figuring out how much money you might have to spend to fix it. Thankfully, most of the time insurance will cover some or all of the cost! Here’s a breakdown that might help you when that unfortunate time comes.
Florida Residents with Windshield only damage
Florida has a statute (627.7288) that mandates a zero-dollar deductible for windshield repairs and replacements for those with comprehensive coverage. Comprehensive coverage covers damage from non-collision incidents such as hail, tree branches, or rocks on the road. Full coverage policies include comprehensive coverage.
This means that those with a full coverage policy or even just comprehensive coverage alone benefit by not having to pay their normal deductible for windshield only damage. You can get your windshield repaired or replaced for FREE at the shop of your choice (Hopefully, by us!).
Florida Residents with Glass damage other than the windshield
Unfortunately, the zero-dollar deductible statute only applies to windshield damage. In most cases, you will have to pay your deductible for a back glass replacement, door glass replacement, or other glass damage. However, some policies have a separate deductible for glass damage, which is usually considerably less than the normal deductible. Additionally, some policies can have additional coverage that waives the deductible for all glass damage. We can help you figure out the cost through your insurance, or by giving you a cash quote. A lot of times we can complete your replacement for less than your deductible!
Georgia Residents with glass damage
Unfortunately, Georgia doesn’t have a zero-deductible statute like Florida does. This means that in most cases your full deductible will apply unless you have specific additional coverage for glass only damage. We would be happy to help you figure out the cost going through your insurance or help you with a cash quote!
